hammernode evaporation

Feb 20, 2006 - 22:52

hammernode, the Domain Name Server? that pointed this domain name to my email/webserver, unexpectedly and unalertingly pulled the plug on Thursday, after a few years of free service.

The site simply reports, hn.org is closed. No notice, no nothin.

A few days without email, offboard brain, dig.ID.centerpiece; what a kick!
Keyclick, flicker off;
flailed sailing,
no so failsafes
bail out -- jumpashore.

technopagan's (fairly outdated) Dynamic DNS Providers List showed me some options, of which I chose DNS Made Easy. Not free, but hopefully more reliable.

back on grid.

just found an email about the pending switch-off from hammernode from February 11th (four days before) -- marked as junk by my mail application...
