Leaving Friday and taking the next week off: cure for the cubic workaday. James is being repositioned from Georgia to Anchorage (all the rage) and I get to share the Cleveland-Seattle leg of the trip.

Learned a lunchtime lesson in manual transmission to prepare for our vehicular wrangling, a-automatic. (a being the negative particle.) (a being, the negative particle.)

Fly back here Sunday, pre-Independence.

I'll have a few days on my own in Seattle. Loose plan is to spend some Rainier days hiking, or if really rainy, perhaps buzz around citywise. I've cut way down to one coffee/day (was killing me; now filling the gaps with T) so should be spotready to spin.

I'm all ears for suggestions: active attractions, attractive actions, cafés, soundwave-weaving havens, natural wonders, bridges under which to sleep...

countrymen

A human being is part of the whole, called by us "universe," limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness. This delusion is a prison, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons close to us.

Our task must be to free ourselves from our prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all humanity and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security.

social contraction

My continuing philosophy is predicated on the assumption that in dynamic counterbalance to the expanding universe of entropically increasing random disorderliness there must be a universal pattern of omni-contracting, convergent, progressive orderliness and that man is that anti-entropic reordering function.

type a paranoia

Blood group A supposedly dates back 10,000 years, to the time when humans started farming. People in this group (about 40% of humans) are said to be submissive, anxious, paranoid vegetarians. They are told to eat tofu, grains, fruit and vegetables.
